The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (formerly Arkansas Soil and Water Commission) released its 2007 Residential Water and Wastewater rate study in February. The study lists usage data on 905 water and 438 wastewater systems.
The rate study is broken into two spreadsheets; water and wastewater. The data lists the name of the system, county, water source(s), population served, number of meters and cost of usage per thousand gallons.
The study has many uses for the water/wastewater professional, but one of the more important uses is that the study allows the system administrators and the consumers to see how their rates compare to other systems.
The best news for Maumelle residents is that their water/wastewater system ranks in the 35th percentile. That means that 65% of the public water/wastewater systems charge more than Maumelle Water Management.
