The Pilot Study to improve finished water quality ended July 2010. The Arkansas Health Department approved a permanent treatment process change replacing the lime softening process with sodium hydroxide. As we continue the new treatment process the calcium coating that is in the distribution system will continue to dissolve and be flushed with usage. As the calcium is flushed it may cause the water to be discolored. The discolored water is perfectly safe for drinking or cooking, but please refrain from washing white laundry and call the emergency number (501-851-1750) and report the address to our on-call personnel so that we can flush the area to clear your water up.
